ST. LOUIS -- The UTB/TSC Scorpions women's volleyball team seeks its first victory of the season when they play four matches in Eastern Missouri -- three against ranked NAIA opponents -- Friday and Saturday, September 19-20.

UTB/TSC (0-7) will visit Missouri Baptist University (4-4) at 1 p.m. Friday in St. Louis, then travel 30 minutes north to St. Joseph for a 7 p.m. match against Lindenwood University (8-3).

On Saturday, the Scorpions take a two-hour drive to Columbia, Missouri, for matches against Graceland University (9-3) at 12 noon and against Columbia College (8-1) at 2:30 p.m. Those matches will mark a return visit for the Scorpions to the site of 2007 NAIA National Women's Volleyball Championship, where the Scorpions finished fifth.

The Scorpions are winless in seven attempts -- four against tough NAIA opponents and three against NCAA Division II teams. At the South Padre Island Tournament held August 22-23, the Scorpions lost to Morningside College (15-2), currently ranked #13, to Dordt College (14-2), currently ranked #15, and to Doane College (Neb.), ranked #28.

Of the four weekend opponents in Missouri, Columbia College is ranked seventh and Lindenwood is ranked 10th, and Missouri Baptist University is ranked #31.

After the Missouri trip, the Scorpions will play two matches in Houston September 27, before returning home for two matches October 3-4.
