Scorpions Blanked by Oklahoma City University, 5-0

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -– UTB/TSC surrendered three goals in the first half en route to a 5-0 loss to Oklahoma City University in women's soccer Friday, September 26, at Stars Field.

The Scorpions are now 3-2-1 overall while OCU is now 5-3-1. The Stars have received votes in the national poll equivalent to a #41 ranking.

Caroline Dixon and Maline Anderson scored two goals each for the Stars, who had 23 shots, 10 of which were on goal. Scorpion goalkeeper Stephanie Reid had five saves.

UTB/TSC mustered eight shots, six on goal, but could not get the ball into the net. Milica Mihajlovic attempted three shots on goal, Rochelle Bryan two and Julia Dell' Aquila one.

"It was a tough challenge, and we did not live up to it," Scorpion head coach Nik Barjaktarevic said. "Hopefully tomorrow, we'll be ready to play better, because it's going to be another challenge."

The Scorpions face Southern Nazarene University in nearby Bethany at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 27. SNU, which is 6-1 and ranked #15 in the latest NAIA poll, defeated the Scorpions at home in the NAIA Region VI quarterfinals in 2007.

UTB/TSC returns to face Northwood University Saturday, October 4, at Morningside Park.
