Villarreal Signs Letter of Intent to Join Scorpion

Nedelin "Nena" Villarreal, a 2008 graduate of Rivera High School, has signed a Red River Athletic Conference Letter of Intent to join the Scorpion women's soccer team.

Villarreal is the 11th recruit to sign with the Scorpions this season.

“She has good vision of the field, and knows know where her teammates are and where they need to be," said Scorpion head coach Nik Barjaktarevic, who saw Villarreal play several times in high school and club soccer games. "She proved to me that she is someone with a lot of talent that can make a good contribution to the success of the team."

Villarreal is looking forward to joining the Scorpions.

"I am looking forward to meeting some new teammates," Villarreal said. "I am very competitive, and I have loved playing soccer for many years."
