Women’s Soccer Players Help Children at Buena Vida Project
Posted April and May, 2008
UTB/TSC women's soccer players joined their male soccer team friends to teach children at the Buena Vida Housing Project basic fundamentals of soccer.
Scorpion women's soccer players went to Buena Vida for an eight-week period from March to May.
On the last day of the community service project on May 5, about 45 children from Buena Vida came to Scorpion Field to practice with Scorpion women's soccer coach Nik Barjaktarevic and men's coach Dan Balaguero.
For some of the children, it was the first time in their lives to play on a soccer field with grass.
