A Scorpion Athletics Benefit Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, June 7, at the Fort Brown Memorial Golf Course to help pay medical expenses for student-athletes Jessica Hamer and Talita Milasauskas, who were injured in an automobile accident May 17.

Hamer is a member of the Scorpion women's soccer team, while Milasauskas plays women's volleyball. Both are from Brazil.

Hamer was critically injured in the accident, and is recovering from multiple surgeries at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. She has begun rehabilitation from her injuries. Milasauskas was released from the hospital and has an injured shoulder.

The tournament will be a three-person Florida scramble with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. The total handicap will be divided by six.

The entry fee of $40 per person covers green fees, golf cart and lunch. Mulligans may be purchased for $15 per team and may be used on greens only. The tournament is limited to 60 players.

There will be prizes for the top teams and numerous door prizes will be donated.

Individuals or businesses interested in making contributions are encouraged to do so. FBMC professional Bob Lucio is donating the course for the tournament without charge.
