Scorpion Golfers Visit San Antonio Monday, Tuesday

SAN ANTONIO -- The UTB/TSC women's golf team hopes to continue its success at the Trinity University Alamo City Classic Golf Tournament at the Rivers Crossing Golf Course Monday and Tuesday, October 15-16.

The Scorpions finished in third place at The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Fall Invitational October 2, and junior April Martinez won medalist honors with a 152. She broke her own school record with an opening-round score of 75.

Martinez will be joined by talented freshmen Amanda Anzaldua, Andrea Cadriel, Ari Gutierrez and Rae-Anne Lerma for the women's team. Competing as individuals will be Tara Calderon, Annette Valdez and Allison Valles.

Lerma fired a first-round 78 and finished with an impressive 161. Other scores for the Scorpion team were Gutierrez with a 174 (87-87), Anzaldua 182 (89-93), and Cadriel 188 (91-97).
