EDMOND, Okla. -– The UTB/TSC
women’s golf team begins
play Monday, April 28,
in the NAIA Region VI
Tournament at the Rose
Creek Golf Club.
The 36-hole tournament continues through Tuesday, April 29.
The team of April Martinez, Tara Calderon, Allison Valles, Annette Valdes and Andrea Cadriel received votes in the latest NAIA Women's Golf Rating.
Oklahoma City University, the tournament favorite, is ranked No. 1 by the NAIA. Other Region VI teams ranked in the Top 25 include Lubbock Christian University at No. 5, Southern Nazarene University at No. 12, and Northwood University at No. 20.
Although UTB/TSC is a member of the Red River Athletic Conference, there is no RRAC women’s golf tournament because not enough schools in the conference have women’s golf to qualify for conference affiliation.
UTB/TSC comes into the tournament riding high after a convincing 5-0 match play victory April 16 over Texas A&M International University.
