Scorpion Men's, Women's Golf Teams Hope to Continue Strong Play at San Antonio

The UTB/TSC men’s and women's golf teams, fresh from strong starts in their first tournament of the season, will participate in the Trinity University Fall Classic Monday and Tuesday, October 13-14.

Both teams will be playing the 36-hole tournament at the at River Crossing Golf Club in nearby Spring Branch, Texas.

At the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Fall Invitational October 6-7, both Scorpion teams finished in top five in large fields.

The Scorpion men's teams finished fifth, and only four shots out of the championship in the 18-team field with a 603 total. Junior Victor Calzada with a148 total, good for seventh place, while freshman Vince Cavazos' 149 placed 10th.

On the women's side, the Scorpions finished fourth in a 19-team field with a 685 score. Senior April Martinez finished ninth with a 166, and freshman Ryan Baldwin finished 13th with a 169.

UTB/TSC is playing its second of four tournaments over a four-week span.
